Welcome to the Rosterity tool. In a nutshell, Rosterity is intended to be a quick and lightweight 'bulletin board' for recreational or 'pickup' sports teams. It lets a team captain, co-ordinator or coach know who's going to be at a given game so they and the other players can better plan for the match.
Before developing Rosterity, the author (who was the captain of a few different sports teams) was manually sending e-mails to his team, polling them on who would be playing or not playing for that week's game. E-mail, being what it is, would get lost, mis-filed or deleted.
With Rosterity, your team can have one centralized place where they can look at upcoming games, see who's going to be there, schedule their absences, and so on.
All players on the team share the same 'player password' - this lets a player modify the roster data for a game, letting the captain/coach know if they will be playing. The possible attendance values are 'No Answer', 'Yes', 'No' and 'Maybe', and a 'Notes' field is provided for entering extra information or circumstances.
Since all players share the same password, a teammate can enter a response on the behalf of another player.
Who is it for?
If you're responsible for co-ordinating a recreational team of any kind where the players' other commitments often get in the way, then this is for you. It could be for softball, ice/floor hockey, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, soccer, WoW raids, dodgeball... the list goes on. Rosterity is perfect for any activity where a busy group of people meet.
